The Jews were pleased because Jerusalem (Baitul Muqaddis) was their qiblah. During the time when the Muslims were facing Jerusalem as their qiblah, the Jews would often mock and insult Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They would say, “Muhammad contradicts our religion, but he faces our qiblah!” and they would make many other insults and derisions.
The Muslim community was tested with various accusations and trials. The companions complained to the Prophet (PBUH), and he instructed them to remain patient with these tests until a new command came from Allah.
The attitude of the Jews caused Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) distress, and every day he would raise his hands in prayer, looking up to the sky, longing for Allah to reveal a new revelation to change the qiblah.
Allah, the All-Knowing and All-Hearing, was fully aware of what was happening at that time. Allah then revealed to the Prophet (PBUH) that he should face the Kaabah in Makkah.
The truth from Allah to return the qiblah to the Kaabah is an example of the prayers of the Prophet (PBUH) being answered. This is because the Prophet (PBUH) had long been raising his hands in prayer, looking towards the sky, asking for the qiblah to be changed to the Kaabah.
The Prophet’s (PBUH) request was granted by Allah in the month of Sha’ban, with the revelation of verse 144 from Surah Al-Baqarah, which contained the command to change the qiblah from facing the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to the Masjid al-Haram (Kaabah) in Makkah al-Mukarramah.
In the Quran, there is a story about seven young men who slept inside a cave for 309 years. The story of the People of the Cave (Ashabul Kahfi) is a true story. It is also an extraordinary and remarkable event. Surely, the human mind cannot fathom or explain how a group of young men could sleep for hundreds of years.
In addition to the graves of the Prophet and the Companions, there is also the “Tree of Bakieoah” or the “Sahabi Tree” in Jordan, which is linked to the meeting between Prophet Muhammad and Bahira, and it still stands today. This tree, known as the “Sahabi Tree,” is located in the northern desert region of Jordan.
Jordan’s location is strategic, sharing borders with many Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt.
Apart from its beautiful scenery, delicious food, modern infrastructure, and rich history, Jordan is one of the safest and most stable countries in the Middle East. The country also offers a high quality of life, where both locals and expatriates can access world-class healthcare and enjoy a high standard of living.
Uzbekistan is also one of the Central Asian countries that holds a rich history of Islamic civilization, and stepping foot here feels like being on the blessed land of the Prophets. This is because Uzbekistan is home to several ancient mosques that are hundreds of years old, the Amir Timur Museum with thousands of Islamic civilization manuscripts, and the Imam Khazrati or Hast Imam Complex, which houses the first handwritten Quran and is said to have traces of the blood of Sayidina Uthman ibn Affan RA from the mid-7th century.
In addition, Uzbekistan has produced many scholars, Islamic intellectuals, as well as experts in mathematics and astronomy, such as Mohammad bin Shahrukh bin Timur Mirza Ulugh Beg Guragan.
In Samarkand, there lies the tomb of Imam al-Bukhari, one of the most prominent hadith scholars in the Islamic world. He was born in Bukhara on July 21, 810, and passed away in Khartang (now in the Chelak district of Samarkand), which is 25 km from Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Imam al-Bukhari was buried there in 870. It is said that the site was abandoned for centuries. However, the tomb was restored after the independence of Uzbekistan.
